Content: LW3 e.describe, using examples, how developments in technology have advanced biological understanding, eg vaccines, biotechnology, stem-cell research and in-vitro fertilisation f. discuss some advantages and disadvantages of the use and applications of biotechnology, including social and ethical considerations

The Livescience website is appealing to students as the content is based around what the general public would find interesting with titles such as "Move Over, 'Game of Thrones,' Here Are 9 Real-Life 'Dragons". As such is the language is generally easy to comprehend. The layout of the website makes it easy for students to navigate and find a topic that they are interested in and would like to find out more about.
Activity: Students are to find a biological advancement on the website and make an A3 sized poster to tell other students in the class about it. As part of the task students must also write a 1 minute speech which they will present to the class along with the poster.
